Jenni Kuida worked at Great Leap as the Managing Director from 1997 to 2004. She was hired as part of the California Arts Council's Multicultural Advancement grant. During her tenure, Great Leap expanding it's bookings, with performances at colleges all around the country with Nobuko's "A Grain of Sand," the diverse "A Slice of Rice, Frijoles and Greens" and the "Grain of Sand Reunion Concert" with Nobuko, Chris Iijima and "Charlie" Chin. She also produced several community residencies, "To All Relations" which took place in Phoenix, Detroit, Watts, and Boyle Heights, to name a few. After giving birth to her daughter Maiya, she left the staff and joined the Board of Directors from 2005 to 2012, during which time the Board began using the LA Marathon to fundraise. She has recently returned to Great Leap to help with the Great Leap digital archive project as part of Great Leap's 40th anniversary. She currently works at Koreatown Youth and Community Center as Grants Manager, using skills that she learned working with Great Leap 20 years ago.
