Senshin Buddhist Temple has been an essential community ally, supporter, and incubator for Nobuko Miyamoto's work and for Great Leap. Miyamoto's long-term collaborations with Rev. Mas Kodani, former Senshin abbot, resulted in xx bon-odori songs and choreographies to date. Miyamoto's first community dance classes were held at Senshin in the 1970s. Many of Great Leap's artists and supporters have connections to Senshin, including George Abe, Donna Ebata, and many more. The impact of Rev. Kodani's and Senshin's long-term commitment to Miyamoto's work cannot be overstated: it models how essential a key community partner can be for a non-profit organization.
