George Abe has collaborated in virtually all of Great Leap's projects over the years. A founding member of Kinnara Taiko, he is known as a bon daiko player and as a specialist in the yokobue (transverse flute) and shakuhachi (vertical flute). Born in 1944 at Manzanar, he is deeply committed to Japanese American and Asian American creative arts and community building.
