Deborah Wong is a longtime fan of Great Leap. She is an ethnomusicologist and teaches at the University of California, Riverside and has been known to play taiko. She served as a presenter for Nobuko Miyamoto and FandangObon at the 2016 Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
