Senshin Buddhist Temple
Senshin Buddhist Temple has been an essential community ally, supporter, and incubator for Nobuko Miyamoto's work and for Great Leap. Miyamoto's long-term collaborations with Rev. Mas Kodani, former Senshin head minister, resulted in six bon-odori songs and choreographies to date. Miyamoto's community dance classes were first held at Senshin in 1976. Many of Great Leap's artists and supporters have connections to Senshin, including George Abe, Donna Ebata, and many more. The impact of Rev. Kodani's and Senshin's long-term commitment to Miyamoto's work cannot be overstated: it models how essential a key community partner can be for a non-profit organization.
